Presentation to discuss resurrecting the woolly mammoth
Technology startup company Colossal Biosciences and national organization The Explorer's Club hosted a presentation, Sept. 16, about the company's work toward resurrecting the woolly mammoth.
The presentation focused on how, why and whether DNA technology should be used resurrect the woolly mammoth, an extinct animal that last lived in Alaska thousands of years ago.
Colossal Biosciences is a private company that plans to use DNA recovered from mammoths to generate a hybrid mammoth-elephant species that could inhabit the Arctic. The event provided an opportunity for Alaskans to hear about the plan and provide feedback.
