The recommendations are:
1) Dating and Dragons by Kristy Boyce
Suggested because:
“Cozy and cute YA
romance about two people falling in love over Dungeons and Dragons! Nerdy,
sweet, and came with a free D20 when I bought it.”
2) Storm Pegs by Jen Hadfield
Suggested because:
“It speaks to being
a newcomer to a small community, the connections we seek with others, and the
delight in things simple and in nature. I found it calming to listen to as an
audiobook and an enjoyable read, which was helpful in trying to understand some
of the local dialect. We share some latitude and attitude with rural Scotland,
and the dependence on one another for physical and mental survival.”
3) Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Suggested because:
"This book and film
are on repeat for me from fall to spring. The beauty of unconditional love
before a backdrop of cozy homes, falling leaves, and winter scenery is a gentle
reminder to embrace passion and be kind to those around you."
4) Witch Hat Atelier by Kamome Shirahama
Suggested because:
“It has a very kind
feel to the story, while things don’t go perfectly for the protagonists, the
story is held with care and empathy for both the characters and the reader. And
the art is breathtaking on every page.”
5) Encanto, directed by Jared
Bush
Suggested because:
“Cause this movie
gives a nice cozy vibe and a warm feeling about family values.”
6) Back to the Future, directed by Robert
Zemeckis
Suggested because:
“It’s a cult
classic sci-fi movie that’s full of humor, pop culture, and good music. You can
just chill out and laugh at the jokes and know that you make your own future as
it hasn’t been written yet and it’s what you make of it!”
